Local Families benefit from The Warehouse Customer Choice Programme

The 2020 Trust’s Computers in Homes was selected for The Warehouse’s Customer Choice programme by fourteen stores. At every Warehouse, shoppers were given a disc to vote for one of three neighborhood community organisations the store is supporting. At the end of the six months funds raised are given to each of these community organisations according to their percentage of total votes.
The funds raised are to be spent in each store’s area, and this funding will allow us to include supporting digital literacy to local families who participated in the Computers in Homes Programme 2016-17.
In Palmerston North those x2 families that benefited from The Warehouse Customer Choice Programme and received a Samsung Galaxy Tablet.

A big thank you to the Warehouse Team Palmerston North for being such good sports and joining our families for the photo.  Fantastic.

Well done Feilding

Fantastic Feilding whānau

On the 14th of April 11 families completed their 20 hours of Computers in Homes computer training while being hosted at North Street School.

These families were from two local schools.  North Street and Feilding Intermediate School.  What a successful supported collaboration between the schools with an amazing outcome.

Principals Jo Reiri and Selena O'Leary have been instrumental with the planning and support for each family member and a special shout out to our wonderful trainer Sheryll Goodwin.

Some of the comments from the families...

"awesome course, learning lots of new skills"

"am very grateful to have been part of this"

"Just want you to know that I am so thankful for the opportunity of this course and internet"

Schools and families working together

NORTH STREET SCHOOL & FEILDING INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL
No automatic alt text available.

What a fantastic start to 2017.  With Feilding Intermediate School and North Street School Feilding working collaboratively to ensure that their families get the opportunity to take part in the Computers in Homes programme.

The Manawatu Computers in Homes programme has already had success at North Street School with x13 families graduating in the 2016 year. Now we have both schools training together.

Many thanks to Principals Jo Reiri (North Street) and Interim Principal Selena O'Leary (Feilding Intermediate) who continue to champion the programme in Feilding.

It's a new year for Computers in Homes in the Manawatu, Horowhenua & Kapiti region.

A very happy new year everyone and I am looking forward to meeting the new families that will be looking to continue on their digital journey for 2017.

We have had an exiting 2016 year with another three schools/community centres helping approximately 40 families on their way to being more confident and comfortable in the digital world.

So what's happening in our area?
